Prerequisites
What You Need:
- ✅ Solana Wallet: Phantom, Solflare, Ledger, or another supported wallet
- ✅ SOL in Your Wallet: For transaction fees (minimum 0.1 SOL recommended)
- ✅ Internet Connection: Browser access to nftsol.app
- ✅ 5-10 minutes: Time to complete the process
Step 1: Connect Your Wallet
- Click “Connect Wallet” button in the top-right corner
- Select your wallet type (Phantom, Solflare, Ledger, etc.)
- Approve the connection in your wallet extension
- You should see your wallet address displayed (like
abc...xyz)
Tip: If you don’t have a wallet yet, download Phantom Wallet and create a new one. It takes 2 minutes!
Traditional NFT Minting
Method 1: Upload Your Own Content
Timeline: 5-10 minutes to mint + 2-10 minutes verification
Step-by-Step:
Step 1: Navigate to “Mint NFT” Tab
- Click the ✨ Mint NFT button on the home page, or
- Use the navigation menu and select Mint NFT
Step 2: Upload Content
- Choose your media file (image, video, audio, or PDF)
- Supported formats:
- Images: JPG, PNG, GIF (max 50MB)
- Videos: MP4, WebM (max 500MB)
- Audio: MP3, WAV (max 100MB)
- Documents: PDF (max 50MB)
Step 3: Add Metadata
Fill in the details:
- Title: Name of your NFT (max 100 characters)
- Description: What is this? Why should people care? (max 1000 characters)
- Creator Name: Your name or alias
- Tags: Add 3-5 tags for discoverability (e.g., “art”, “digital”, “exclusive”)
Step 4: Set Price & Royalties
- Price: How much SOL for your NFT? (e.g., 1.5 SOL, 0.5 SOL)
- Royalty: Percentage of future sales you receive (5% = 0.05, 10% = 0.10)
- Example: Set 10% royalty, your NFT sells for 5 SOL → you get 0.5 SOL every resale
Step 5: Review & Approve
- Review all information
- Click “Mint NFT”
- Approve transaction in your wallet
- Wait 2-10 seconds for transaction confirmation
Step 6: Grok Verification (Optional)
- Click “Verify with Grok AI” to verify authenticity
- Timeline: 1-5 minutes
- Result: Shows verification confidence score
Step 7: List for Sale
- Once minted, click “List for Sale”
- Set your price and confirm
- Your NFT appears in the marketplace immediately

Step-by-Step:
Step 1: Search the open web
- Open the 🔍 Discover / search tab
- Use the search box: Enter what you’re looking for
- Example: “nature photography”, “apollo moon”, “classical music”
- Each result shows its source (Openverse / Internet Archive) and a license badge (e.g. CC0, CC BY)
- Optionally narrow by media type: Image, Audio, or Video
- Browse results and click to preview
Step 2: Select Your Item
- Click on the item card to see full details
- Review:
- Title, description, creator
- Year created
- License type (should be “public-domain” or CC-licensed)
- Duration (for video/audio)
- View the actual content if available
Step 3: Prepare for Minting
- Click “Prepare for Mint” button
- System will:
- Extract metadata
- Create preview image/thumbnail
- Generate provenance information
- Timeline: 30-60 seconds
Step 4: Verify with Grok AI (Recommended)
- Click “Verify with Grok” button
- AI will analyze the content for:
- Authenticity
- Content quality
- Metadata accuracy
- Timeline: 2-5 minutes
- Result: Confidence score (80-100% is excellent)
Step 5: Add Your Curatorial Metadata
- Your Title: Create a compelling title
- Example: “Rare 1920s Jazz Performance - Charlie Parker”

What Are Echoes?
Echoes are collaborative layers on top of a base NFT:
- 🎬 Base NFT: The original (yours or from Archive)
- 🎨 Layers: Contributors add creative work on top
- 💰 Rewards: All contributors earn from sales
- ♾️ Forever: Echoes are permanently tied to the NFT

Base NFT: "Charlie Parker Jazz Solo (1945)"

When someone buys the Echo NFT:

How to Create an Echo:
Step 1: Start with a Base NFT
- Create your own NFT, OR
- Use an Archive item as base
Step 2: Click “Create Echo”
- Select your base NFT
- Review base metadata
- Confirm you want to create collaborative version
Step 3: Define Contribution Framework
- Set how many echo layers are allowed
- Define royalty split (how much each layer gets)
- Set minimum contributor requirements
- Lock/unlock additional contributors
Step 4: Invite Collaborators
- Share your Echo ID with collaborators
- They can submit contributions via:

Step 5: Review & Approve Contributions

Listing for Sale
Before You List:

How to List:
- Go to “My NFTs” tab
- Find your unminted NFT
- Click “List for Sale”

Q: How long does minting take? A: 1-2 minutes for transaction confirmation. With optional Grok verification: 5-10 minutes total.
Q: Can I change the price after listing? A: Yes! Go to your NFT, click “Update Listing”, and set new price.
Q: What if my mint fails? A: Check that:
- You have enough SOL in wallet
- Your internet connection is stable
- Try again in 5 minutes
If issue persists, contact support with transaction hash.
Q: Can I delete/unlist my NFT? A: Yes, click “Unlist” on your NFT card. It stays in your collection but isn’t for sale.
Archive-Specific
Q: Can I modify content from the Archive? A: You cannot modify original Archive content. But you CAN:
- Add commentary in description
- Create an Echo layer with modifications
- Create derivative work based on it
Q: What if I want to create a derivative (remix, edit, etc.)? A: Create it as:
- A separate NFT (derivative work), with credit to original, OR
- An Echo Layer on top of the original
Q: Do I get permission to use Archive content? A: Yes! All Archive items are public domain or creative commons, so you have permission. Always:
- Give credit to original creator
- Include license type on your NFT
- Mention the Internet Archive source
Grok Verification
Q: What if Grok verification fails? A: Low confidence scores mean:
- Your content may have quality issues, OR
- Metadata doesn’t match content, OR
- AI detected possible generation/manipulation
You can:
- Re-verify if you fixed issues
- Upload cleaner version
- Proceed without verification (less visible, may sell for less)
Q: Is verification mandatory? A: No! It’s optional but recommended. Unverified NFTs still sell, but verified ones have:
- Better visibility
- Higher buyer confidence
- Potentially higher prices
CLOUT & Rewards
Q: How much CLOUT can I earn? A: Depends on your activity:
- Minting: +10 CLOUT per NFT
- Verification: +5 CLOUT per verification
- Sales: +1 CLOUT per successful sale
- Echo contributions: +2-5 CLOUT per layer
Q: What can I do with CLOUT? A: Currently:

Troubleshooting
Q: “Insufficient balance” error A: You need more SOL in your wallet.
